Supertunias
General Information:
Supertunias are a vigorously trailing new species of an ever-blooming, long-living petunia from Australia. Available in eight different colors, they provide long-term color in full sun areas throughout the season, and can grow nearly an inch a day! Their profuse blossoms and fast growth make them ideal for baskets, beds, balconies and combination plantings.
Planting:
Grow in full sun/part sun areas. Well drained, organic soils are best. One plant will spread 3 ft or more. Works great in baskets, window boxes, tubs, or beds. Frost tolerant to 27° F. Greenhouse grown plants are tender, so protect from frost in spring.
Watering:
Avoid frequent watering until well established. Keep on the dry side then water thoroughly. Daily watering will be needed during 90° temperatures in July & August.
Fertilizer:
Fertilize every two weeks with a high nitrogen fertilizer (15-30-15). Periodically supplement with iron if yellow veined leaves appear.
